What Move God’s Hands into Action

Introduction

In series 1 to 4 on this theme (What moves God to action), we observed that man can make God do ‘what He ordinarily didn’t plan to do’ with praise as in the case of Jehoshaphat during a battle in 2 Chronicles 20: 19-23, with obedience as in Cana of Galilee when Jesus turned water to wine, with penitence as in the case of David employing repentance to stop God from what would have been just punishment for his sins, and with giving as in the case of Solomon in 1 Kings 3. Today’s series is about moving God to action with your faith.

Moving God with your Faith

Your faith can make God do for you what He probably didn’t plan to do for you.  Faith is trust or confidence in the intention or abilities of a person, object or ideal. It is the substance of our hope and evidence of our expectations. Hebrews 11:6.

Observations

  1. Jesus was going to Jairus’ house. Jairus, a respected man and a ruler in the synagogue acted in faith and with humility requested Jesus to come to his house to heal his daughter. Vs 41.
  2. Multitude thronged Jesus. The multitude thronged Jesus evidencing the fact that anywhere Jesus went multitude would gather to either obtain mercy or seek wisdom beyond human knowledge.
  3. The woman with the issue of blood touched the border of Jesus’ garment. Vs. 43-44. The woman with the issue of blood touched the border of His garment and by her action and faith forced her healing out of Jesus. She did not come to Jesus pleading for mercy or requesting to be healed like Jairus did for his daughter. She simply purposefully exercised her faith in Jesus and His undoubted ability to heal. The result is healing of 12 years hemorrhage.

The Boarder of Jesus’ cloth

The woman with 12 years hemorrhage touched the border of Jesus’ cloth. What she actually touched was the tassels on the hem of the head covering usually worn by Jews called THE SECRET PLACE. The tassels on such cloth usually sum up to number of bones in the body of man plus number of days in a year. When a Jew wears it, he is saying: God cares for me totally every day of each year. The Secret Place is always on the head and shoulders of a typical Jew; and whenever he needs to pray or worship, he will draw the cloth to his head and by so doing, he is IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH. Since Jesus had come, died and rose again, wherever you are as a Christian, you are in the secret place of the Most High and can obtain your blessings from God by FAITH!

Conclusion

Are you operating in this world by sight and expecting heavenly healings? Like the woman in our text, we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor. 5:7. Get your blessings today from JESUS by your faith!
