A New Glory

INTRODUCTION

The word glory means public praise, honour and fame; magnificence or great beauty. It is high honour won by notable achievements. Glory is something that is a source of great pride.

THREE CATEGORIES OF MAN’S GLORY

  1. Some people have never been celebrated in life, meaning there is nothing of celebration in their personal life. It means they have no glory.
  2. Some have been celebrated before; but now, things of celebration have departed.
  3. Some are currently being celebrated, enjoying God’s glory.

All these three categories still need prayer.

JOSEPH AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE 3 CATEGORIES OF GLORY

  1. What dignified him from his brothers was his beautiful cloth which his brothers striped off him. Aside from the beautiful cloths, all Joseph had were his dreams. Genesis 37
  2. Joseph’s glory of beautiful cloth was temporary. He was shining in the glory of his cloth and being the favorite son of his father until he was sold into slavery; and his cloth of glory became a piece of evidence to substantiate falsehood. In slavery, he again tasted glory of becoming the leader among slaves until he was falsely indicted, sacked, convicted and sentenced to prison. Genesis 39. He dropped from glory to gravel. Psalm 4:2.
  • God gave Joseph a new glory. Gen. 41, Psalm 57:8.

Five things were given to Joseph at his level of restoration of glory:

  1. Kings signet ring – a mark of unquestionable authority. 41:42. [Heaven will restore you to the level of an unquestionable glory].
  2. A royal fine linen cloth – better than the one his envious brethren stripped off him. 42. [Your glory of the latter end shall be greater than the former].
  3. A gold chain around his neck. 42. [The ornament of glory shall no longer depart from your life].
  4. The kings chariot – akin to the present day presidential jet. 43. [Keep moving from glory to glory].
  5. An escort. 43. [Your detractors will be the one to announce your new glory, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ].

CONCLUSION

The God of Joseph’s time has never changed (Heb.13:8), He will crown you with a new glory today; He will move you from grass to grace and from glory to glory, in the name of the Lord Jesus. Only believe in Jesus and rest in His word (John 11:40)!
